These are all old fashion created soaps with tallow, olive oil, organic virgin coconut oil, and castor oil with sodium hydroxide, also known as lye. The sodium hydroxide reacts with the oils and the soft mass of rich ingredients turns into a solid, beautiful, emollient soap.
This is a hefty hand-cut bar of soap, weighing between 5 and 7 oz (142-200 grams). It is approximately 3 1/4" by 1 3/4". It is chunky in shape, so it won't thin out and break in the middle after continued use.
It has been cured for at least 4 weeks to ensure a hard, long lasting bar. If it is kept in a proper soap dish and drained well between uses, it will hold up through many, many baths, showers, and hand washings—no messy, gooey, melting bars here!
These bar soaps have abundant rich, moisturizing bubbles. We do not add any artificial foaming agents. The natural glycerin is retained in each bar, and the combination of rich oils and natural tallow, provides loads of fluffy lather.
If you have tried natural soap before and found that it either dried your skin, or turned to mush, give these bars a try. Commercial “soap” is filled with detergents, hardening agents, and perfumes and is not really soap at all.
Texas Apothecary soaps are made with beef tallow sourced from small family farms that practice free grazing in Texas.
